Juno ..Review

Juno is an off beat movie, directed by Jason Reitman, a very young director, starring Michael Cera, Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman and Ellen Page as the title character, Juno.

The movie is about teen pregnancy and is a good watch especially for teens and parents here in India and especially metropolitan cities like Mumbai. The movie has a very pro-choice theme, at least i found it more pro-choice even though it has a subconscious hint of being pro-life. U can find the synopses here.

What strikes me however, is the level of maturity with which the whole story has been dealt with and presented, and that it has a distinct style, very different, very Canadian and quite feminine. The movie has been written by Diablo Cody, whose life story is also a very interesting read.

With superb directing, great acting by Elen and a good solid story, i rate it as a 9 out of 10, definitely worth a watch.

  1. Saw it sometime back. Loved it. The scene in which Juno tells her parents that she is pregnant was great. Seeing her parent’s reaction, I wondered how this movie would have turned up if it was made in India. 🙂

  2. i agree harini and ankur
my friend was fida on her , but she has got that je ne sais quoi ! kind of attractiveness

True Amit, it would be heavy with emotions and noise.
    Minal dont miss it 🙂
    thanks all

  3. It is undoubtedly an amazing movie. I watched it on theater a few months back, and since then have been reading a lot of reviews on the web. I agree that the theme has been handled very sensitively here and also not too loud.

    Great job, Harsh

    Ur welcome harash and thanks

  4. i assumed Juno was directed by the same guy that directed Knocked Up because it’s about an unexpected pregnancy, and Michael Cera stars as Juno’s boyfriend (he was one of the goofy kids from Superbad, a close relative of Knocked Up), but it turns out this is not the case
